Crafted Beauty is a collection of planter designs created by LiveTrends Design Group, made entirely from recycled agricultural materials including rice husks, straw scraps, wheat shells, bamboo powder, coffee hulls, and recycled plastic. The goal of the project was to highlight the beauty of natural materials while offering products that are both modern and environmentally mindful.
I collaborated with my marketing team to develop the overall identity and packaging for the collection, focusing specifically on the products Bellevue, Loam, and Aros. My primary role was in packaging development, where I worked with the factory team to ensure material choices aligned with our eco-conscious goals. One of the key challenges was finding packaging that was water-resistant, since retailers often water the plants while they’re still on display. Working through this required both creative thinking and technical problem-solving to ensure the final product was functional and shelf ready.
The result is a thoughtful and practical presentation that reflects LiveTrends' commitment to mindful design and eco-conscious living.
Another key design challenge was developing a packaging system flexible enough to adapt across a range of product types while still communicating consistent, essential information.
Each package and tag needed to clearly convey that the product was made from recycled materials, include QR codes linking to our plant care library and an in-depth collection overview, a UPC code, and a breakdown of the product’s functionality.
Aros was a concept for a rechargeable LED terrarium. I created the packaging design to clearly communicate setup instructions while securely housing both the large glass piece and its charging cable. Though the product was cut before production, the packaging is included here to showcase the structural and visual considerations behind the concept.
